Architecture de Référence pour le Edge Computing: Application au Système de Contrôle des Risques dans le Transport
Abstract
Edge Computing is a new paradigm that becomes the most attractive model in both industrial
and academic fields. It is considered as an evolution of Cloud Computing thanks to its
ability to process and store data in a decentralized way at close level of its sources and no longer
on the Cloud infrastructure. Edge Computing provides a highly efficient way to improve reliability,
low latency, and a good reduction in bandwidth requirements in data centers. The degree
of complexity, the problem of partitioning the workload on the different layers constituting the
Edge Computing architecture, and the diversity of the devices, lead to an indeterminate definition
of the elements involved in Edge Computing architecture. In this paper, we implement
a reference architecture dedicated to Edge Computing "EECA" (Enhanced Edge Computing)
with a high level of expressiveness that supports all Edge Computing concepts. Then, we concretize
the obtained results, via the implementation of a prototype regarding the use case of
Edge Risk Control System (ERCS).
